It's a new year and time to think about me. As a mom, it's always family first, me second. One of my New Year resolutions is to put me first. If I am not at my best, how am I expected to take care of everyone else? I consider my best to be fit, organized and happy. I have been working on my best for about two weeks now (started early!) and it all starts with a morning power smoothie!
I like to drink green smoothies in the morning. It's a great way to get vegetables in and it's a yummy breakfast. I was drinking the same smoothie every morning and I was getting a little tired of the same thing. While I was at Walmart last week, I decided to pick up new ingredients to add a little treat to my morning smoothies. I passed by the yogurt section and noticed a new yogurt from Müller®, ice-cream flavored yogurt!! All three went directly into my cart!!
MORNING POWER SMOOTHIE(makes 2 smoothies)Ingredients:1 cup Kale water (recipe below)1 banana1 cup ice1 Müller® vanilla bean yogurt
To Make the Kale Water:The base of this smoothie is kale water. Kale water is a blend of pineapple, apples, cucumber, kale and water.
First, you cut up the 1/2 the pineapple, 2 apples, 1 seedless cucumber and you put in a blender.
Blend until smooth and then add 2 handfuls of kale and about 1/2 cup water. Blend.
Then, I grab an empty bottle and pour the kale water in, leaving about 1 cup in the blender. This kale water goes in the fridge and lasts me about 4 days.
To Make my Power Smoothie:
To the 1 cup of kale water in the blender, I add 1 banana, 1 cup of ice and 1 Müller Vanilla Bean ice-cream inspired yogurt. Blend until smooth.
Serve into 2 mason jars, add a cute straw and enjoy!!!
Since this recipe makes two servings, I do share with Adrian. We drink our smoothies and chat. I'm happy, he's happy and the smoothies are delicious!
Müller Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt comes in three amazing flavors: Vanilla Bean, Mint Chocolate Chip and Raspberry Chocolate. You can eat them alone as as the perfect indulgent treat or add to a smoothie like I did! Now you can feel good about eating dessert first!
