For Star,

I have been blogging everyday for over nine years. Star's first comment on my blog was back in June 2006.

Star has been with me, reading my blog, encouraging me, praying alongside of me, giving me many reasons why I blog. If I stopped blogging, I would miss the conversations, the communications, the joy of knowing you, of sharing a life in spirit.

You have been a Star in my life.

Yesterday, I asked, "What would you like to see in Paris?" And I would try to take a photo of it while here. Star asked for a sign of hope because she is facing a serious health issue:

Star wrote:

"Facing a rather serious medical issue...can you make a postcard that says "hope" ? If not (and even if you do!) I will appreciate prayers for His healing mercies."

Today, I sought symbols of hope for Star. I walked around Paris: The sky was blue, spring showed its face, trees first signs of green, flowers in bud, babies in strollers, lover's kissing, children giggling, outdoor cafes full, unbuttoned coats, birds singing, clouds floating by without threatening rain...

Hope.

When I came home I went through my photos and none of them carried the feeling I hoped for my Star.

So I went back to my blog and looked up Star's comments thinking to myself, "I will find when she gave me hope and share it back with her."

Several hundred comments... I knew I knew you for a reason! So I went back to the first comment. And there like the grace of God you wrote:

"I love your Poetry Thursday contribution.

It challenges each of us to try to become

"a word of hope"

for ourselves and others."

...

You

are

HOPE.

Such hope!
