St Anne's Winery Wedding with a Llama Surprise

Posted on the 26 February 2021 by Lavan Le

Brittney & Bryce

Brittney and Bryce have been in each other's lives since primary school but it wasn't until Year 10 that they started to be interested romantically. Fast forward eleven years and the rest is history! These two have recently bought their first house, which they own with their two gorgeous dogs and a parrot. Both are self-confessed animal lovers so it is no surprise that they chose to incorporate two furry friends into their big day... all will be revealed later on in the blog post!

The Venue

Brittney and Bryce chose to marry at the beautiful St Anne's Vineyard in Myrniong. Complete with a courtyard overlooking the stunning surrounding gardens, unique bluestone cellars piled high with barrels and not forgetting the award-winning wine (very important!), it's easy to see why the couple wanted to marry here.

Established in 1972, St Anne's is a family-run winery and boasts a number of beautiful locations to suit every couple's preferences for their big day. Whether you would prefer to say your vows in the great outdoors with the natural beauty of a vineyard as your backdrop or you prefer the rustic charm of The Barrel House, St Anne's truly has it all. For me, Brittney and Bryce's choice of venue was a photographer's dream and the photo opportunities were endless.

Getting Ready

The morning of your wedding day is something you will never forget. Bryce got ready at the couple's home with his groomsmen. Several toasts and a few funny photos later (it would be rude not to right?!), the party headed off to the ceremony in high spirits.

Brittney treated herself and her bridal party to a stunning, spacious Air BnB, but was totally blown away by her party's generous gift to her; a white silk gown to get ready in!

The Ceremony

Taking place outdoors, the bridal party kicked off the memorable ceremony by walking down the aisle to a romantic rendition of 'I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)'- a playful nod to the groom's surname which happens to be Miles! Then it was the moment everyone was eagerly waiting for; the beautiful bride's entrance! Brittney was accompanied down the aisle by her mother to a romantic instrumental of Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love'. Covered with her delicate lace-edged veil, this touching moment left a few guests and even the groom welling up!

A part of the ceremony the guests certainly won't forget is the moment the Best Man was asked to present the couple with those all-important rings (what could possibly go wrong?!). After jokingly looking in every pocket in his tuxedo jacket, two very special ring bearers were introduced; Warrigal and Chilli the llamas! Dressed in a pale blue tie and blush pink bow, the ring bearers did an excellent job at presenting the rings and added a bit of light humour to a glorious ceremony.

The Décor

The natural beauty of St Anne's Vineyard was only enhanced by the couple's choice of colour scheme and décor. For their outdoor ceremony, the couple opted for a gorgeous white wooden arch draped in delicate flowers and foliage as the focal point. The flowers in bright shades of orange, purple and blue cleverly matched the bride's bouquet and also the flowers that the bridal party held. The bridesmaids' flowing, lilac dresses complimented the colour scheme perfectly and the groomsmen's smart black and white tuxedos added a touch of sophistication to the day.

For their wedding breakfast and reception, the couple chose to celebrate in a spacious yet intimate room, drenched in rustic charm with wooden beams and vintage barrels. A beautiful 3 tiered cake was the focal point of the reception with the second tier consisting of the same gorgeous flowers seen at the ceremony! The llama theme continued with unique llama napkin ties, which the guests loved! Celebrating in a winery, it was only right that the couple gifted their guests with alcoholic favours; miniature bottles of wine decorated with a yellow bow were very much appreciated by all the guests! Fairy lights across the ceiling and glow sticks given to the guests set a magical tone for the evening and meant that once the sun had set, the night of dancing and partying had only just begun!

The Photography

As a wedding photographer in Melbourne, I love capturing the personalities of the couple and take a mixture of natural and posed shots to achieve this. Brittney, Bryce and their guests (especially the llamas!) made my job very easy and I hope that Brittney and Bryce look back at these photos in years to come with big smiles on their faces as they remember this incredible day.

It was a pleasure to be part of this couple's special day and I will always remember the llama ring bearers that made the day truly original and unforgettable! I wish Brittney and Bryce every happiness as they embark on their new chapter in their new home as husband and wife.
