Sri Prahladar on 'kuthirai Vahanam' at Triplicane

Posted on the 23 March 2014 by Sampathkumar Sampath
Sosale is an ancient village on the banks of holy  Cauvery River near its confluence with the Kabini River, in Mysore district.  There is fair sprinkling population of Madhwas in Triplicane – i.e., those who follow the ideals propagated by Sri Madhvacharya.

Understand that the writings of Sri Madhvacharya comprises of  thirty-seven works, collectively called Sarva-moola Grantha.  There are many commentaries propounding the theology of Sri Madhvacharya.  His philosophy was  Dvaitha siddantha ~ the duality theology. In their Guru parampara Acharyas starting with  Sriman Maha Vishnu Himself, there are karmaja Devatas which includes Sri Prahladarajar.Prahlada as we know is famed for his blemishless devotion to Sri Maha Vishnu, despite attempts by his father Hiranyakashipu, to turn him to the contrary. He is accorded special importance as being the reason for the Narasimha  avatâr.  The puranic instance of Sri Prahlada makes us understand that God is everywhere and He comes readily to save his devotee in distress.  Constant, unquestioned, pure faith in HIM is devotion. Sri Vyasaraja  Mutt propagating Dvaitam is a holy seat for Madhwas.  Its seat is at Sosale and one of its many branches is at Thiruvallikkeni at East Tank Square street adjacent to Thiruvadi Kovil. On 20th Mar 2014, there was purappadu of Prahlada of the Mutt in kuthirai vahanam.  Here are some photos of the occasion. Sri Prahladar on 'kuthirai vahanam' at Triplicane
