BRIGHT STRIPES
Stripes are a staple year after year, but we’ve never seen them quite this bright and bold before. It’s a total departure from the more classic navy and white stripe, and feels really fresh for the new year. Bright stripes are shown especially on knit items, like this sweater from the GAP. We paired it with simple gray legging jeans and ballet flats for a casual and wearable look.
BOMBER JACKET WITH EMBELLISHMENT
The bomber jacket was really popular back in the fall, and it’s been updated for spring with lighter-weight fabrics. Be on the lookout for patches and embroidery on them. Those extra details make it look more expensive than it is, and with a simple black dress, it’s very stylish and on-trend. RUFFLES
Spanish and Caribbean influences came out on the runways in the form of flirty ruffles. H&M has taken the simple white cotton blouse we all know and love and has brought it into 2017 with tiers of sweet ruffles. It’s daring, but at the same time feminine and frilly. MIRCO PLEATS & METALLICS LOFT
Micro pleats in festive metallic are the perfect trend for a night out. The tiny pleats and modest length strike a ladylike air, but the slight shimmer in the fabric really makes it stand out for night time. We paired it with a simple black camisole, and finished it off with silver hoops. Hoops are definitely back in style after quite a bit of time out of the spotlight.
