A hauntingly romantic love story-

When Angel discovers her best friend, Zac, and his cousin, Kyle, have inherited Taigh Fallon, a Scottish Mansion, from his great aunt, she offers to travel with him to see his newly acquired property. She immediately falls in love with the crumbling estate, but Zac is not all that keen on keeping the place. However, when his cousin Kyle arrives, Angel is angered and saddened by Kyle’s plans for the house. The pair clash almost immediately! But the old mansion is holding a few secrets, secrets that could have a lasting impact on all who love Taigh Fallon…
This is another wonderful and magical love story by Kirsty Ferry. The story employs a dual timeline, one from the late 1800s, which depicts a fateful, but tragic love triangle, and the present day, where Angel, Zac and Kyle explore the old Scottish estate, discovering its poignant and magnetic pull, while pondering the future, not only of the grand old mansion, but for themselves, as well.
I really loved the “Wuthering Heights’ parallels in this story and of course the bittersweet ghost story/ time slip elements. Angel is a terrific character, filled with great passion. Zac could be so clueless sometimes, but he was also pragmatic, and maintained a calm demeanor, which is what Angel needed on occasion. Kyle was an enigma is some ways, but I understood more about him, towards the end, where he made me swoon just a little…
Overall, a lovely story recommended to everyone!

Kirsty is from the North East of England and won the English Heritage/Belsay Hall National Creative Writing competition in 2009. She has had articles and short stories published in various magazines, newspapers and anthologies and was also a judge in the Paws 'n' Claws 'Wild and Free' Children's Story competition in 2011 and in 2013. 'The Memory of Snow', her first novel, was commended in the Northern Writer's Awards, shortlisted to the top five of Wyvern's novel competition in 2011 and longlisted in the Red Telephone Novel Competition in 2012.
