She’s baaaack!
Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) might be in prison, but we haven’t seen the last of FBI Agent Samanda Watson.
Sydelle Noel, who played Watson during The CW‘s sixth season, recently mentioned at the Television Critics Association summer press tour she was headed back to Vancouver.
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say!” Noel said. “But I can say that I’m leaving for Vancouver tomorrow. You can say that I’m leaving for Vancouver, literally tomorrow? So…”
The CW later confirmed that Noel was returning to Arrow, but didn’t elaborate on which episode she’d appear.
It’s unclear as to why Watson will appear in the seventh season, but speculation points to the fact that Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) is still at large. Oliver made a deal with Watson at the end of last season, turning himself in to face the consequences of his actions as the Green Arrow in return for her help dealing with Diaz. Since Diaz managed to avoid capture, he poses a real threat to Star City, one that might require Watson’s attention.
Another theory points to Watson’s return being connected to what happens to Oliver while he’s behind bars at Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Season seven’s official synopsis revealed that Oliver will face many of the criminals he placed behind bars. In the teaser trailer released last month during San Diego Comic-Con, Oliver is seen with various bruises and injuries, not to mention teases of some pretty vicious-looking prison fights.
Whatever the reason may be for Watson’s return, we’re all excited to see where it goes.
