Spirit Animals Book 2: Hunted by Maggie Stiefvater

By Mattnem05 @mattnem05

I enjoyed this book as much as the first Spirit Animals Book, The kids  Conor, Abeke, Meilin, and Rollan are likable and realistic characters. They do have some trouble coming together as a team and working together in the beginning but I do like the fact that they do come together when they really need to. Which is good because they need all the help they can get in dealing with Rumfuss, the Great Boar and getting his talisman before the bad guys do. The characters all go through some self development in this book. Connor has to deal with the guilt of leaving his family while Meilin deals with the guilt of leaving her country.  Abeke deals with feelings of insecurity because she thinks the others don’t like or trust her because in the first book she unwittingly sided with the bad guys. Rollan deals with trust issues and having to deal with others since he is used to only depending on himself. The story is fast moving and full of action and adventure, I really would recommend reading the first in this series Wild Born because you will be able to understand more about the 4 main characters and the world of Erdas. But all in all this was a very enjoyable quick read that I am sure any animal loving middle schooler will really enjoy.
