Spend Halloween in Covent Garden and see Europe’s biggest pumpkin #London #Halloween

To celebrate Halloween, Covent Garden will transform into London's spookiest district and play host to the Europe's biggest pumpkin. For two weeks only, visitors can enjoy Halloween eats and treats, while Covent Garden's Beauty Quarter will become the ultimate destination to get a Halloween makeover.

To mark the scary season, London's largest pumpkin will take centreplace in Covent Garden from Monday 22nd until Wednesday 31st October. Weighing one tonne, the prized pumpkin took 110 days to grow in Lymington, Hampshire and will be surrounded by 150 smaller pumpkins, giving Covent Garden a beautiful, autumnal look. Visitors to the pumpkin patch will be able to hand-select their own small pumpkin to take home and carve into Jack-O'-Lanterns on the big night.

After Halloween, the seeds from the impressive pumpkin will be replanted, in the hopes of creating another future showstopper.

For the young book lovers, children's favourite Amelia Fang will be putting in a very special appearance, as author Laura Ellen Anderson will be hosting book readings in the South Wells of the Market Building on Sunday 28th October. Children will be treated to excerpts of Amelia's adventures and will have the opportunity to draw the Amelia Fang characters on their own small pumpkins to take home.

From dangerously delicious cocktails to creepy Halloween makeup masterclasses, beginning 22nd October, Covent Garden will be inviting visitors to embrace their inner ghoul, with the Balthazar staff poised to dress in their best Halloween fancy dress. From the 29th October to 4th November, Balthazar will introduce an exclusive Halloween menu include the 'Balthobombe' dessert - a chocolate sphere disguised as a pumpkin, containing a smooth and airy chocolate mousse, served with a warm chocolate brownie and topped with pecans. On Halloween, each dining guest at Balthazar will be given the opportunity to flip a specially-made Balthazar Trick or Treat coin; and if the coin lands on 'Treat', guests will be given a special Balthoween cocktail free of charge.

Other Covent Garden restaurants and retailers participating in the Halloween fun include The Henrietta and The Ivy Market Grill, who'll be serving up frighteningly delicious cocktails, in addition to Hotel Chocolat, Ladurée, Sweetheart Cupcakes, Morelli's and Godiva who'll introduce limited edition collections of snacks and treats for the perfect ghoulish gift.

This Halloween, Covent Garden's Beauty Quarter is the ultimate place to visit for spooky Halloween makeup tips and tricks, with the most standalone beauty retailers per square metre than anywhere else in London. Tom Ford Beauty will be creating striking looks using the innovative Extreme collection, exclusive to the global flagship store in Covent Garden, while beauty emporiums including NARS, KIKO and Urban Decay will host makeup masterclasses to help shoppers achieve truly terrifying looks each weekend from Saturday 19th October until Wednesday 31st October.
