Special Announcement About Monkeypox from the Health Sector

Acting Chief Epidemiologist Dr. Samitha Ginige states that the public should not panic about the Monkeypox disease. With the recent diagnosis of two more cases of Monkeypox, the number of cases identified in Sri Lanka is now four. Dr. Ginige further said that the transmission of Monkeypox from one person to another is at a very low level, hence there should be no reason for undue fear in this regard.
