SpaceX attempts to launch its first manned spaceflight

In Brevard County, Florida, where the Kennedy Space Center is located, police and military security personnel have erected roadblocks around the launch site. Journalists must show a bright orange badge and ID to enter NASA facilities.

A series of buildings owned by various media outlets, known as "bunkers," are found under the gigantic NASA vehicle assembly building. And journalists do their best to spread out, wipe desks, wear masks and keep their distance. Hand sanitizers and Clorox wipes are distributed. Fortunately, KSC is huge, so there is plenty of room to expand. And NASA has not authorized any visitors to the site for this launch.

CNN Business shares a bunker with local journalists at the Orlando Sentinel. This building is like a time capsule from the space shuttle era: the walls are decorated with images of the spacecraft with giant vertical wings on the launch pad.

Also on the walls: images of the appearance of the front pages of the Sentinel in the morning after the Columbia and Challenger disasters, a reminder of why NASA takes risks so seriously, and of the events that precipitated the end. of the 135 shuttle flight race.
