Great Southern Café
Though the house specialty is Grits A Ya Ya, Great Southern Café in Seaside offers a variety of brunch items that range from Eggs Benedict, Eggs Sardou, Fried Green Tomato Benedict, Corned Beef Hash and Grits & Grillades to name a few. Dine on the porch outside or choose inside seating. You won’t want to miss the exceptional house made bloody mary’s or a mimosa’s . Brunch is available every Sunday from 11-2 p.m.
Another Broken Egg – Grayton Beach
There is nothing Shrimp & Grits can’t fix, and Another Broken Egg located in Grayton Beach, Baytowne and Destin offers a homestyle brekafast to delight at the beach. Fresh and made to order, Another Broken egg offers breakfast, brunch, or lunch with great service and a fine cup of joe. Patrons clammer for the Eggs Benedict, Biscuit & house made sausage gravy, Lobster Omelette, Southern Crabstack, and my my favorite, Huevos Rancheros! With generous crowd pleasing portions, Another Broken Egg is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m and is certain to be a crowd pleaser!
The Red Bar
I have written for many magazines in the area, and I can’t tell you how many times The Red Bar comes up! Sunday Funday is the motto at The Red Bar located in Grayton Beach, and has become a “church” of sorts for locals. The Red Bar is a place to gather, reunite, enjoy good food, and soak in the sounds of Dread Clampitt, along with some star-studded musicians who also happen to pop in and end up on the stage! This Top Spot has locals and visitors lining up for hours, especially during the holidays and summer months. Go for the Belgian waffles, Eggs Benedict, and the famous Panne’ Chicken Sandwich! The Red Bar also serves one of 30AEATS top 3 Bloody Mary’s on 30A!
Marie’s Bistro
Marie’s Bistro is a family friendly locally owned restaurant in Blue Mountain Beach offering a brunch buffet from 10-2 p.m. every Sunday. Freshly prepared eggs, quiche, breakfast meats, pancakes, French toast, salads, lunch items and much more are available. Marie’s Bistro showcases live music to enhance your dining experience.
Stinky’s Fish Camp
Also serving one of 30AEATs Top 3 Bloody Mary’s on 30A (one Gulf shrimp included), Stinky’s in Dune Allen Beach is known for their flavorful fresh food and brunch is no exception. With a motto that reads, “It is what it is & it ain’t what it ain’t” , the brunch menu is delectable yet limited to items such as French Toast with Maple Syrup, A choice of Three Egg Omelettes, or this former NOLA gals favorite, The Crawfish Pie with Shirred Eggs. Stinky’s is always a local and visitors go-to top spot, especially on Sundays when The Steenos play from 12-3 p.m. Brunch is from 11-3 p.m. each Sunday.
The Marigny
A locals hang out and the best place to get authentic “old school” New Orleans cuisine, and the go-to place to watch the Saint’s play, The Marigny began serving brunch (today) on January 5th, 2014. Chef Chris, formerly the executive chef of local restaurant FIRE, has culinary training from Commander’s Palace and Cafe Adelaid in New Orleans to name a few. He partnered with GM Jason, a veteran restaurant and bar owner, to create a family friendly place that is safe for kids to play while parents are entertained. From Grits & Grillades, Yard Bird & Waffles, Po’Boys made fresh on Leidenheimer bread, Eggs Sardou, Crabcakes and Beignets, The Marigny should be the “Sunday dinner” spot for families to share good times over great food, bottomless bubbles included with entree! Laissez le bon temps rouler!
Crispy Fish V Seagrove, photo: Susan Benton
V Seagrove (Closed until Jan.16. Call for brunch availability)
At V Seagrove Chef David Cunningham serves a brunch menu that is constantly evolving due to the seasonal produce and freshest ingredients sourced.. The Omelette is always creative and delicious like the one made with local crab and lobster that I enjoyed. Other menu favorites include the Waygu Brisket Benedict and Farmhouse Belgian Waffle. Also serving a great Bloody Mary and delightful Bellini’s, bottomless bloody mary’s and mimosas are offered for a small fee when purchasing an entree. V Seagrove is open from 11-2 p.m. every Sunday for brunch and is located on the northwest corner of CR 395 and Scenic 30A.
Elephant Walk
Another Top Spot for Brunch that will have your taste buds thanking you, is the delectable fare served at Elephant Walk located on proprty at Sandestin Golf Beach Resort & Spa, This unique restaurant location overlooking the Gulf of Mexico is the perfect place for family and friends to enjoy superior food and with a stunning view. I have written many times about the recently re-opened and renewed Elephant Walk which has certainly rekindled the spirit and essence of the original, making it a 30AEATS Top Spot to dine. Try the Lump Crab Cocktail, Lobster Bisque and famed Grouper Elizabeth. Open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m and dinner from 5-9 p.m.
Additional Favorites, some of which are seen in the January Dining Guide of Thirty-A Review where I have 29 food related articles and counting:
