I wonder how many people ignored this post due to the fact that my song of the week is by Taylor Swift. Let me tell you, a year ago, I would have ignored the post. Listen, I don’t dislike her completely. I just miss the Taylor Swift from her first CD back in ’06. I don’t mind that she chose to ditch country and join the oh-so-popular “pop” genre. She has more opportunities that way, I guess.
I haven’t purchased a cd by T. Swift since ’06. Yesterday, I decided that it was time to give her another shot because everyone was making a HUGE deal about this 1989 cd. I typically steer away from the norm, but this time, I really wanted to hear it. I thought Shake it Off was a catchy tune, so her other songs had to be catchy. Boy, I was right! I am happy to admit that I truly enjoy the cd: 1989. If you are even slightly interested in T.Swift, I say check it out. If you are not a person to purchase a cd, I am sure the entire album is now on YouTube haha.
There are several songs on this cd that stood out to me (lyrically speaking). They reminded me of past breakups, the feeling of finding a new person to share some memories with, and just life in general. You all know I love lyrics! I decided to choose Wildest Dreams to share with you all today because I find the song to have great lyrics and a good sound. I hope you agree!
Taylor Swift… good for you. I think this album will be one of your greatest. Enjoy this song, y’all! :)
