The stylist yet affordable Sony Xperia E
Sony Mobiles have announced and launched an affordable smartphone dubbed as the Sony Xperia E. It was first announced by Sony in December 2012 and now is available for sale on most markets. Sony Launched the Experia E along with its dual-SIM counterpart, the Sony Xperia E-dual. On a quick search on online stores that are available in Malaysia, I stumbled upon the Sony Xperia-dual (dual-SIM) sold at RM499 to RM559 (US$161 to US$180), I would presume that the Xperia E is sold slightly cheaper.
The highlight of the Sony Xperia E/Xperia E-dual are its compact built, measuring at a mere 113.5 x 61.8 x 11 mm (4.47 x 2.43 x 0.43 in) and weight about 115.7 g (4.06 oz) which is clearly constructed for simplicity (and affordable), another important feature is the excellent HD Voice quality that can transform calls clearer than any other phone – the Xperia E does this by a noise cancellation feature that filters out background noise leaving a user with crystal clear conversations in any environment.
Another attribute that the Xperia E/Xperia E-dual are different from other smartphone is a “data usage app” which help users control cost and power consumption. The application check how much is being spent and the extended standby mode increases the standby time up to 4 times. Moreover, when your the screen is in sleep mode for a few minutes, Wi-Fi and data traffic will be disabled automatically including active applications to save battery life. Calling and messaging however are still active as usual and a touch on the screen will wake up the device from standy-by mode and activates all applications once more.
Sony Mobiles in its press release stated,
It will also be available in a dual SIM version – Xperia Edual – so that consumers can easily switch between tariffs with just one touch to stay on the most cost effective plan. “Consumers looking to take their first steps into the world of Xperia smartphones would be well advised to look at Xperia E or Xperia E dual. They are perfect for those seeking affordable access to the quality and functionality more traditionally associated with high-end Android smartphones”, said Calum MacDougall, Director Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications.
Another important feature of the Xperia E and Xperia E-dual is that they are equipped with superior sound quality with the in-built “WALKMAN®” application that includes xLOUD™ audio technology, 3D surround sound and a manual equalizer.
