Sometimes when I’m strutting my stuff through this concrete jungle called Philadelphia, I like to listen to my iPod and dodge those big metal things called cars.

Last week, I decided to use the shuffle feature on my sweet, sweet iPod and some of the songs that played were absolutely shameful.

As I was listening, I kept thinking to myself “What the hell was I thinking paying 99 pennies (more like $1.29) for this song?”

I’d like to share some of my most shameful songs in order to make your day a little better.

Ashley Tisdale – ‘Crank It Up’

As everyone knows, I love pop music…that’s no secret. Even though I’m a fan of The Tis, purchasing/owning this jam makes me lower my head in embarrassment. But every time my ears hear “Crank It Up,” I can’t help the bopping that occurs for three minutes and 13 seconds. This beat really is hypnotic!

“Crank It Up” is on Tisdale’s second album titled, “Guilty Pleasure.” It was released overseas, but not in the U.S…thank goodness I am here to pass on such knowledge.

Even though this song comes with a side of shame, if it ever came on at a bar…I would bust out my best Julia Stiles – “Save the Last Dance” moves. I have a feeling The Tis would bring my life-long dream of staring in a dance circle a reality.

Sam Adams – ‘I Hate College (Remix)’

I’m going to share something about myself that not many people know…I love white rappers and their contributions to the music community.

Sam Adams is a white rapper from Boston and started out by recording songs on his MacBook in a dorm room. I guess Sam did something right because he earned himself a spot on Conan back in January.

While Sam isn’t that well-known, he caused quite a stir when his debut EP “Boston Boy” jumped to no. 1 on the iTunes hip-hop charts back in 2010. Documents were released that showed a majority of the purchases were from one region of the country. As you can probably guess, Sam was accused of buying the album in order to get to no. 1. Obviously, Sam denied these accusations…Team Sam Adams!

Let’s be real, I’m into Sam Adams mainly for his looks…he’s super cute.

Sam – Call me…please.

S Club 7 – ‘Never Had a Dream Come True’

I was hesitant about revealing that I do, in fact, own this song. I hope I don’t get accosted on the street because of it.

Formed in 1998, S Club 7 has released four studio albums and had their very own TV show on ABC/Fox Family. Of course I was in front of the TV when the band sang and danced their lil hearts out.

“Never Had a Dream Come True” was a pretty big deal…it even made the TRL countdown. Even though it was on TRL, I still feel slightly mortified if someone discovered this song or any of the above songs on my iPod.

I guess I really don’t have to worry about that since I just broadcasted my ownership of them to the world…dammit.
