DINOSAURS.
Let's say some birds can be traced to dinosaurs.
That means bird song (may have) existed since just after the Jurassic period.
And we're convinced bird song is nothing more than territorial/mating calls and stuff; no self-awareness, no community, no news headlines/gossip/weather reports?
Like everything stood still for millions of years, in the realm of bird song? Nothing changed? No mutation, no evolution, no amelioration of the art in all that time?
I mean, look at ants; ants have the most complex chemical language ON THIS PLANET.
