Some Professional Advice on KITCHEN LIGHTING

By Trendoffice @trendoffice

I was invited by Christopher Sweet from number 1 lighting tip for a new kitchen and, as experienced interior designer, it was my pleasure to share it. I was just one of the '
9 Experts to Reveal Their Best Lighting Tips and Tricks for Kitchens '.

For me it was interesting to find that 50% of the experts advised to focus on Dimmers. This is my answer:

"Lighting is an important part of the overall interior design process. Especially in places like the kitchen, where good lighting above the counter-top is essential for its proper use. Still, as an interior designer often doing renovation projects, I often see kitchens with just central lighting and very few task lightings. My #1 tip on lighting for your kitchen: Never forget lighting below the upper cupboards just above the working area and do not rely only on central lighting on the ceiling, because it will inevitably cast shadows exactly over the counter-top where you are working. Even if you have not planned lighting sources beneath the upper row of cupboards before installing the kitchen - which is obligatory! - it is possible to stick up LED lights powered with batteries. Make good use of the advantages of the innovative and flexible LED technology. LED bulbs last for up to 20 years and can be made so tiny that they can be easily integrated into any modern interior design project.

I am sure that it will be interesting to read all the answers at the above links and that you will find them very useful.
