“Social Media Examiner _Social Media Suite”

By Julia Fernandes @appshub

Social media marketing provides organizations with a way to connect with their customers. However, organizations must protect their information as well as closely watch comments and concerns on the social media they use. A flash poll done on 1225 IT executives from 33 countries revealed that social media mishaps caused organizations a combined $4.3 million in damages in 2010.[100] The top three social media incidents an organization faced during the previous year included employees sharing too much information in public forums, loss or exposure of confidential information, and increased exposure to litigation.[100] Due to the viral nature of the Internet, a mistake by a single employee has in some cases shown to result in devastating consequences for organizations. An example of a social media mishap includes designer Kenneth Cole’s Twitter mishap in 2011. When Kenneth Cole tweeted, “Millions are in uproar in #Cairo. Rumor has they heard our new spring collection is now available online at [Kenneth Cole’s website]”.[101] This reference to the 2011 Egyptian revolution drew an objection from the public; it was widely objected to on the Internet.[101] Kenneth Cole realized his mistake shortly after and responded with a statement apologizing for the tweet.[102]

Online behavioural advertising is the practice of collecting information about a user’s online activity over time, “on a particular device and across different, unrelated websites, in order to deliver advertisements tailored to that user’s interests and preferences[30][31]

Hi, Ann! Thanks for the comment! It’s great to hear from you.

🙂
This post came together for me in maybe 4 or 5 hours? I’m probably cheating a bit, though. So much of the content and research on this one was pulled from other posts that we’d already written. I spent 8 hours on a post shorter than this one the other day. Funny how much it varies from post to post!

There are direct benefits of social media in the form of greater market share and increased audiences.[34] To increase these benefits technologies that better facilitate social media marketing has been developed; an example of this technology is the development of bots.

Testimonials. If case studies aren’t a good fit for your business, having short testimonials around your website is a good alternative. For B2C brands, think of testimonials a little more loosely. If you’re a clothing brand, these might take the form of photos of how other people styled a shirt or dress, pulled from a branded hashtag where people can contribute.

I just saw this list and I thought I’d add what we do. We use Verizon as our carrier and they allow you to put time restrictions on the phone. My son switched to using a texting app on his IPod. We explained that going around us wasn’t okay and we put parental controls on his IPod. We actually took seriously the need to keep the internet out in the open – our 2 computers are in a public space. So, we felt strongly that having the internet on a phone or on an IPod was counterproductive. So, we only let him have games and music on the IPod. He still finds work arounds, but at least he knows where we stand. Porn is a huge concern, but so is respecting our guidelines as far as no texting in school, or after 10pm on a school night (we feel like the only ones….) Best of luck – it’s a battle but one that’s worth winning.

Prioritizing clicks refers to display click ads, although advantageous by being ‘simple, fast and inexpensive’ rates for display ads in 2016 is only 0.10 percent in the United States. This means one in a thousand click ads are relevant therefore having little effect. This displays that marketing companies should not just use click ads to evaluate the effectiveness of display advertisements (Whiteside, 2016).[37]

Kik Messenger is an app that lets kids text for free. It’s fast and has no message limits, character limits, or fees if you only use the basic features. Because it’s an app, the texts won’t show up on your kid’s phone’s messaging service, and you’re not charged for them (beyond standard data rates).

Digital marketing, IMHO, goes beyond Internet or online marketing, certainly for now, because it includes devices and channels which do not involve The Internet or World Wide Web – such as mobile phones.

In my experience, however, one member of the team rarely has a seat at the table: the IT guy. Representatives of the IT departments of the customers for whom these digital experiences are being built are rarely, if ever, included. Therein lies one of the major problems at the foundation of the entire digital marketing edifice: the lack of real and meaningful creative interaction with IT.

@ Chris, please can you avail me more information on sweetalk? I have checked online but I could not lay my hands on any information about the new platform. I really need such platform for my upcoming business.

In the race to become platforms with extra frills, the big exception is WhatsApp. Founder Jan Koum has said publicly that he has no plans for his service to start providing games. Koum and his co-founder Brian Acton, both former Yahoo managers who were one of the first to create a mobile messaging app for smartphones with WhatsApp, see it almost as a pure communication utility that should not be saddled with extra features that might slow things down. “That’s what’s happened with most social networks on the web now,” says Neeraj Arora, business manager for WhatsApp, which is based in Mountain View, California. “It tries to do everything for everyone. Our core is communication.”

Question for you, your followers, and commenters: Assuming you’re posting as often as one of the above infographics suggests, what percentage of your content is original? Or is most shares, retweets, quotes, etc.?

Creating a killer social media campaign isn’t about the support of a great brand or having the right assets. It’s about striking the delicate balance of perfect timing, relevant and the right audience. While everyone and his mother — and g…

It seems strange to think there was ever a time when social media wasn’t an integral part of growing a small business. While many entrepreneurs still struggle with how to best use social media to engage their audiences and promote their businesses, there are signs that they’re gaining confidence in their social media skills. In 2012, 54 percent of small-business owners, who participated in a survey administered by Constant Contact, reported they needed help with social media. This year, that number dropped to 45 percent. This confidence seems to be translating into success, with 72 percent saying that their marketing efforts across the channels that matter, including social, email, mobile and Web, are working.
