Via Freep: Soccer was a passion for 44-year-old John Bieniewicz, who lived and loved the game. The married father of two sons was refereeing a match on Sunday when authorities said a 36-year-old player punched him in the head, knocking him unconscious. Witnesses said Bieniewicz did nothing to provoke the attack and officiated neutrally. They called what happened “outrageous” and “unfathomable.” The match was being played by men ages 30 and older.

Hey, Bassel Abdul-Amir Saad, you just won asshole of the year and we’re only in July. What an absolute piece of shit this guy is. How mad and deranged do you need to be to haul off and punch a referee during an over 30 men’s soccer match? Look, I play in these leagues, the refereeing is typically horrendous, but never at any point have I felt the need to just all out attack the ref.
Sad that this guy will leave behind a wife and two kids. Hope this Bassel character goes to jail for a long, long time.
