Golden Krust Founder Commits Suicide
The founder of a successful chain of Carribean restaurants shockingly committed suicide in his Bronx factory. Lowell Hawthorne, 57, shot himself inside the Park Ave. building near E. 173rd St. in Claremont at about 5:30 p.m., sources tell The New York Daily News. So far no motive for the suicide has been released.
Lowell who was described by his employees as a “good boss” who “never seemed sad”, headed the largest Carribean franchise chain in the U.S. with more than 120 restaurants in nine states.
