Saturday Night Live finally returned after several weeks off, and guess who came out for two very special impressions? That’s right, Alec Baldwin! Louis CK was actually the host, but I guess every SNL host has to deal with the fact (at this point) that people are tuning in for the political coverage and Alec Baldwin. Here’s the cold open, where “Trump” meets some of the people who voted for him. This is 100% accurate.
Louis CK’s monolog was strangely apolitical. While Louis isn’t an intense political comedian, he does a lot of political stuff in his stand-up and I find it strange that he didn’t even touch the current political situation. Like, even Kristen Stewart devoted her opening monolog to political stuff!
Baldwin came back to do double-duty as both Trump and Bill O’Reilly. This is almost NOT funny because it’s SO dead-on.
Here’s the excellent skit about the Kendall Jenner-Pepsi commercial. I’m glad they didn’t do just a flat-out spoof, this works so well. I love the part at the end with Cecily Strong as Kendall!
Here’s the opening part of Weekend Update.
Kate McKinnon doing a bit about the Cristiano Ronaldo bronze bust… OMG.
This one is kind of mean? Like, they’re making fun of internet justice-warriors and people who only contribute to the discussion by sharing articles and retweeting.
