Technology has not just changed the way we communicate with each other, it has also significantly changed the way we live. Today having a smartphone is a requirement. It is no longer considered to be a luxury. It is a necessity.

The smartphone era has revolutionized the way we communicate. People now have easier means to connect with each other and more platforms to share or broadcast their thoughts, opinions and ideas and receive almost instant responses. People now don't just share, they start trends. And these trending topics make more people aware about the latest news etc. Smartphones have made it easier for more people to get access to better information. By providing easy connectivity with the net, smartphones are creating a news hungry generation lapping up online content. Smartphones are also powering change. By easy communication, messages spread like wildfire. And any campaign being carried out by people reaches a larger audience. This diversity of people can enable understanding and acceptance of different perspectives and viewpoints. Smartphones aren't just being used for personal communication, they have also become an important business tool. Various apps like organization apps, help people in using smartphone to meet their day-to-day business needs. And the social networking apps like WhatsApp, Facebook are bringing the world closer. People from distant corners of the world can stay connected any moment of the day.

If there is one thing that has become most popular in smartphones, it is the camera. Ever since mobiles started coming with a camera, everyone has become a photographer!. And we all are well aware of the Selfie craze. In fact, honestly speaking, most of us are a victim of it too. Smartphone makers know how important smartphone camera is for us. And they are trying to make these better and better.

Big brands like LG know that smartphones are no longer just communication devices. They serve many different needs. That is why these brands are always trying to bring out smartphones meeting different budgets and different needs. And since smartphones are now being used even by the less tech savvy people, smartphone makers are trying to make their devices easier to use and capable of tolerating bit of rough usage. Simplicity and durability has become an important parameter of good smartphones. And reputed and responsible brands are taking note of this and incorporating simplicity and durability in their smartphones.

In short, big smartphone brands are vying against each other to bring the best technology to their consumers. If we just look at one brand, for example, here are some devices that LG has recently launched. They all have breakthrough technologies targeted to meet different needs and wishes of smartphone users.

LG G5:

LG G5 is the first modular smartphone in India. It has a metal uni-body with a Slide-out battery and a Modular Type design for a better smartphone experience. G5's 135-degree wide angle lens helps users easily select standard or wide angle to get more in the shot. The result is a better photo in less time.

It has various other innovative features too like the Always On lockscreen. This makes available information like date, time on the sleeping screen. It also has a whole retinue of LG Friends that add to its functionality. These are a collection of companion devices like LG CAM Plus, LG 360 CAM and LG 360 VR.

LG X Cam: The unique feature of LG X Cam is its Dual Camera at the rear. X Cam has a 120-degree wide angle lens to complement the standard lens. The 13MP standard angle lens and the 5MP wide angle camera can together deliver as wide a field of view as the human eye. It is said to capture 53% more area than the traditional cameras on the smartphones.

The X Cam also offers Pop-out Picture feature which combines the two images taken with the standard and wide angle lenses to create a picture-in-a-frame effect. Its Panorama View automatically scrolls a wide image instead of a static image. It also has a Signature feature that allows users to add a caption or byline after taking a photo.

LG X Screen: LG X Screen is the latest smartphone launched by LG in India. It is available exclusively on Snapdeal. LG X Screen features a panic button which is in line with the Government of India's initiative in this regard. But the main highlight of this smartphone is that it comes with a second screen. This second screen has the Always-on Display that allows users to check basic information such as time, date and notifications without having to wake up the phone. The X Screen is the first smartphone to adhere to this feature. The X screen's appearance is enhanced by the crystal-clear glass fiber material that covers the back and the curved edges on its sides.

LG Stylus 2 Plus: LG Stylus 2 is for those who like a phablet device. It has a 5.7 inch Full HD (1080p) IPS Quantum display, 1.4GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 4G VoLTE and it runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It has an impressive 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera. Both have LED flash.

As the name suggest, LG Stylus 2 Plus has a stylus pen. This pen has nano-coated tip for better accuracy compared to the previous rubber-tipped pen on LG Stylus. The Pen Pop feature quickly toggles a pop-up menu when the stylus is removed to offer shortcuts to Pop Memo and Pop Scanner.

These smartphones serve as a good example of the many innovations are going on in our smartphones. Smartphone technology is growing at a rapid pace. If smartphones have had far reaching effects on our life. Our needs and preferences too are molding our smartphones.
