We don't need any reports of experts to see the effect of global warming. The summers are getting hotter and longer and the winters are shrinking. Our glaciers are melting, our rivers and lakes are vanishing and the occurrences of natural disasters are increasing alarmingly. Not just that, the effects of global climate change are also impacting food security around the globe, making it an urgent need to implement outside the box ideas to tackle these alarming issues.

As we advance into the summer and face the rising temperatures, it is essential to take lots of fluids and fresh fruits and vegetables to stay healthy. That is why mother Nature has provided so many delicious summer fruits for us. Mangoes, leechis, watermelons are all there to lure us away from synthetic food and enjoy the benefits of a healthy diet.

The trouble is that the scorching heat spoils these fruits and vegetables too soon, forcing us to dispose them off. In a country like India where many suffer from malnutrition, such wastage of food is nothing less than a sin. To prevent this loss, many of us turn to packaged food items which is often full of chemicals and preservatives and causes more harm than good.

People say that global warming is the cost of the development. It is good then that the developing science and technology is also trying to find solutions for the rising heat problems.

It is good to see brands trying to bring out devices that use less resources, cause less harm to nature and help people fight the effects of global warming. Major technology brands like LG, Samsung, Asus etc. are at the forefront of bringing out such green technologies.

Smarter Technology Combat Menace Global Warming

For example, LG refrigerators, with their advanced inverter Linear Compressor technology help in keeping food fresh for longer, thereby reducing food wastage. The inverter Linear Compressor saves electricity, retains cooling for longer during power cuts, LG refrigerators also have high level filtering technology to control bad odours and bacteria from spoiling food items, thereby reducing food wastage.

Technologies like these are the need of the hour. Gadgets that do more with less, that is, use less resources and give more benefits. Technology has become such an integral part of our life that we can't even think of giving up our gadgets to go back to more natural way of living. But that doesn't mean we don't want to adopt more eco-friendly ways. What we need are ways services and products that enable smarter living with greener technology. This would include making it easier for the consumer to dispose off e-waste in an eco-friendly way and creating products that are less harmful for the environment.

And so, it is good to see companies making efforts to give us machines that are more eco friendly, while still being user friendly. Let's hope we'll have more such products in future to enable us to live in a more eco-friendly way, without giving up on our efficiency and convenience.
