We can finally play Slitterhead, a brand-new game from Keiichiro Toyama.
It’s his first work since Gravity Rush 2 in 2017, and it has all the qualities you’d expect from the man who made Silent Hill and Siren. It has the thrilling gameplay of the Gravity Rush games and a dark, ominous mood.
There’s a lot to figure out in this game, from getting new Rarities to upgrading ways to task layout and everything else.
Sometimes it’s easy to get lost and not know what to do next because it keeps you busy and hooked the whole time.
Use Up All Of Your “talk” Options
You can find Slitterhead’s “Talk” tab on the main screen after you finish a Mission. The Rarities you’ve found on your journey can be talked to here.
They will not only give you new Missions and move the game along, but they will also drop hints about how to get even more Rarities.
Rareties are the characters you can play as in the game. As you complete tasks, you’ll unlock more things to do and new ways to fight.
Before you do anything else, you should always use all of the conversation choices in this tab. It is one of the most important parts of the game.
If you want to listen to a talk from the past again, go to the menu and select the “Memory” tab.
Then, pick the Rarity you want and the discussion from the list of choices. This is very important because you might need to hear a tip again to get a new Rarity!

Think About Which Upgrades You Want
After completing a Mission and collecting Memory Fragments, you will be given Skill Tokens.
You can then use the “Status” tab in the main screen to add them to your Rarities. But keep in mind that these Skill Tokens can be used on more than one character, so make sure you want to spend them on that character before you do it.
You’ll get a lot of Skill Tokens as you play, which is good because you can be pretty flexible with where you put them.
However, you should still carefully consider your options, especially if you’re having trouble with some of the Shrine Challenges or other boss fights in the game.
Every character can get improvements for their Blood Weapon, Active Skills, and Passive Skills.
These changes make them much better in battle and, when fully improved, unbelievably strong. You should definitely check out all of a character’s Passive Skills and unlock a few of them early on if you like them.

When it comes to Memory Fragments, you can only use them in RE (2nd Loop) Missions, where you basically go back in time and play a mission you’ve already done from a different point of view.Additionally, this is the spot where you can find the Mysterious Old Lady, get new Rarities, and take on Shrine Challenges.
As we already talked about, Memory Fragments give you Skill Tokens and more details about Night Owl through the “Talk” menu.To get unique costumes and masks for the Rarities, you should do Shrine Challenges. If you want to change how they fit, you should look for them.
You can tell if a RE (2nd Loop) Mission has collectibles by moving your mouse over it. This will show you how many of each item it has and how many you already have. There may have been a hint in an exchange that you could get a new Rarity in a Mission marked with “Signs of Rarities.”
Choose The Rarity That Matches Your Fighting Style
At first, you play as a person who doesn’t have a name. The game can be rough to play. The game speeds up, though, once you take charge of Julee. The game can be a lot more fun with the right frequency, even though Julee’s moves are good. Edo is great at both attack and defense, and Anita is great at managing enemies and doing poison damage.
Best Rarities:
- Edo: Strong, blocks attacks, high damage.
- Anita: Controls enemies, poisons over time, strategic.
Worst Rarities:
- Unnamed Citizen: Limited combat abilities, slow start.
- Slitterheads: Difficult to defeat without the right tools.
Give every rarity a try to find which fits your play style best!
Change A Lot In Fights
One of the most important things about Slitterhead is that you can Possess your Companion Rarities and even random citizens while you’re in battle, which keeps you from dying.
You can die three times before you have to reload, but if things start to go badly, you can easily avoid having to do this by switching to someone else.
Not only will this way of thinking make you constantly check to see where each civilian is, but it will also help you get better at using Possession to distract the enemy from a random civilian, giving you a chance to do a lot of damage or heal.
Watch Out For Things
One of the most important parts of Slitterhead is guarding (Hold L2/LT), which not only lowers your damage but also lets you parry attacks and do heavy attacks (R2/RT), which can do a lot of damage and give you prizes.
In order to quickly beat most enemies and bosses in the game, you need to be able to parry.
However, blocking can also help block a lot of damage that would normally kill you. To be fair, watching can be very helpful, but if you’re not careful, it can also kill you.
In short, if you guard too much and duck when an enemy is striking, your Blood Weapon will break.
You will have to either parry it back together or let it heal itself slowly.
Rares can take more damage, but regular people lose theirs a lot faster. As soon as you see that your Blood Weapon gauge is getting low, fight back or jump to someone else!
Training Missions To Find Out About New Rare Things
It’s important to take a few steps that will help you get the most out of Training Missions and new Rarities. In short, here’s what you need to know:
- Mission Overview:The “Mission” tab at the bottom right of your screen will take you to the Training Missions. There are three levels to them:
- Day 1: The easiest training, meant for beginners.
- Day 2: Intermediate-level missions with more challenging tasks.
- Day 3: The hardest, designed to test your advanced skills and mastery of new Rarities.

Why You Should Do These Missions
As soon as you unlock a new Rarity, you should definitely do the Training Missions that go with it.
This lets you safely try out and learn each Rarity’s skills without having to worry about failing real tasks. There will be controlled situations where you can learn how these skills work.
Picking a Companion
There is a Companion you can choose during Training Missions. The chance to try out different mixes and see which ones work best together is great.
Some Rarities have complicated skills that you may need to practice using fully. Finding the right Companion to go with them will make this process much easier.

The Training tasks will help you get better at using your new tools, skills, and combos, which will help you do better in the real tasks.
The goal of these tasks is to help you learn new Rarities more quickly and with less trouble. Make sure to use these lessons to their fullest to get better at the game.
