Kind Words of Gratitude

Our Hospice Spotlight Volunteer’s Reflections are shared monthly. Reflections are stories of connection and meaning, presented in the volunteer’s own words. Here is another of Sky Yeasayer’s Reflections.

ON GRATITUDE

“One of the things I’ve really enjoyed watching is the nursing home staff. It mystifies me that the people who are most responsible for these patients’ well-being are often times the least paid. To see how they interact with patients (some very demanding) is inspiring. There is a limited amount of them and a lot of needs to satisfy; to just watch them interact and take care of things and be a human being too, knowing that they have all of these stresses outside of taking care of these individuals. This experience is like WOW, I’m grateful that there are so many people like that in the world.”
