Today's post features two of my favorite skincare products that I use on a daily basis all year round to give my skin a radiant and sun-kissed glow. Whilst we have had some pretty damn good weather over the past few weeks, we have also had some typical dull and cloudy days. I have managed to brave my bikini numerous times already this year and developed a pretty decent base tan to build on towards the summer. But on those dull and cloudy days you do still want to maintain that tan. This post is for those who, like me, would rather opt for a gradual tanning moisturiser over a full-on instant tanning lotion. If you want to build a gradual tan that is easy, cost effective and hassle free, I feel that the Garnier Skin Naturals Summer Body Light Moisturising Lotion £3.57 is one of the best on the market if you want to achieve an all over even and natural tan. Benefitting from a fresh summer fragrance of apricot extract, this lotion is perfect for achieving an all over sun-kissed look that leaves your skin soft, hydrated and radiant looking. I guess what I like about these products is that you can gradually build your tan to your desired look. There is also a deep sun kissed lotion in this particular range, but I selected the light, as for me, the darker shade is too dark, particularly if you want to achieve a natural look.
Alternatively, at present, I use the Vaseline Essential Moisture Cocoa Radiant Rich Feeling Lotion £2.93 on a daily basis after I've had a bath/shower. This product is more effective if you already have a base tan as it gradually builds and maintains your existing tan into a rich and radiant bronze. I'm also a sucker for cocoa butter, and whilst its an ideal product for building a tan it is also perfect as a moisturiser. It's super rich, smells heavenly and leaves your skin feeling super soft. I do advise, like with all tanning products, to wash your hands straight away after use as there is nothing worse than having streaked lines in between your fingers. I also recommend that before you start to use a gradual tanning moisturiser, take the time to use an all over body scrub such as the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub or the Breakfast Scrub Body Smoother to ensure your skin is prepped. Using this prior to your first application of the moisturiser will help achieve an all over even and perfected finish.
