Austrian skiing – that’ll be the Tyrol, won’t it?

Yes, of course! Lots of ski slopes there. Lots of noisy Apres ski too. Lots of people. Lots of queues. Lots and lots and lots of long queues…

Best place to go for a jolly good skiing holiday. Maybe..

But the heartland of Austria definitely is!

Skiing in Steiermark

Whether you are an enthusiastic beginner or all-out ski pro, Steiermark is the place to go for sublime ski experiences.

With over 83 ski resorts and skiing from November until the 1st of May each year, the area has something for everyone from tiny tots to gregarious grannies. This is alpine skiing that’s sporty, romantic – all round fantastic!

And best of all – well away from the hustle, bustle and bright lights of the better known  ski resorts. If you want to make the most of your ski holiday, why spend it waiting in line for lifts when you could be sliding down the slopes?

Rustic charm and top resorts

Top resorts with all the extras or small but perfect places with rustic charm, Steiermark has them all. Take your pick – hundreds of kilometres of snow-assured pistes, cross country runs and snow-shoe paths, where the powdery snow is like sliding on silk.

And no long queues for lifts!

Heartland of Austria

Thinking of taking your next ski holiday in Austria – check this out!

Snow comes early in Steiermark (from October) and stays late (till the beginning of May). That’s a whopping 8 months of winter wonderland …. and with Mediterranean temperatures to boot. How good is that?

Family fun or serious sport – in the green heart of Austria you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your well-earned winter holiday will be spent skiing, skiing and more skiing!
