The first time we learnt about Disney Tsum Tsum craze was in a shopping mall in Taiwan and you bet the girls, who were already fans of many Disney characters, fell head over heels for them. I mean, how cute can they get and how creative it is that they can form pyramid shapes, right?
Did you know? The name Tsum Tsum is derived from the Japanese verb tsumu meaning "to stack", because the toys are designed to stack on top of each other.
So, when we were invited to the launch of the SK Jewellery's Disney Tsum Tsum Collection, I knew we just had to go and take a look. Yup, even if it meant lugging three kids with me to town on a weekday evening, I knew it would be all worth it.
Once we arrived, the girls were asked to pen down a personalised message, in gold no less. Little did we know that it was just the start of a shiny, glitzy and glamorous evening!
The collection includes the brand’s signature 999 Pure Gold Bars and Gold Coins, 999 Pure Gold Charms, and white gold diamond pendants and earrings which will be made available later. These will make perfect gifts for a baby full month, kid's birthday or even a gift for yourself too!
The highlight of the collection has to be the 999 Pure Gold Disney Tsum Tsum Charms series, which includes beloved characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger to Flounder from The Little Mermaid, and more! We love how they are three-dimensional, delicately designed and gives you room for creativity because you can mix and match to your liking.
If you prefer something to keep than to wear, then you might like the 999 Pure Gold Bar and Gold Coins series. Did you know that SK Jewellery is the first jeweller in Singapore to design and produce colourful 999 Pure Gold Bars and Gold Coins using the latest laser technology? In addition to colours, the jeweller uses a combination of matte and shiny finishes, coupled with rainbow gold, to achieve the final vibrant, amazing effect. How beautiful, right?
Coming to the packaging, these boxes are simply too cute to resist! With the Tsum Tsum characters lining the border, they are strikingly pretty and make the perfect gift for the little ones. Or someone young at heart.
Before we called it a day, the kids also had the chance to learn about bento making from Little Miss Bento who showed us how to make sushi rice into cute Tsum Tsum characters. Yum yum!
For those who are interested, as the introduction of the Disney Tsum Tsum Collection coincides with SK Jewellery’s launch of its new eShop, the jeweller is retailing exclusively online two Disney Tsum Tsum pieces – the Alice in Wonderland and White Rabbit 999 Pure Gold Coin. You can get them at these links (go here for Alice and here for White Rabbit) and here's how they look like.
So, if you are thinking of what festive gifts to get this year end, do swing by SK Jewellery showrooms to take a look at this lovely collection.
