A group of Samagi Jana Balawgaya (SJB) MPs and a group of National People’s Power (NPP) parliamentarians and supporters defied the curfew imposed by the government yesterday to stage protests in Colombo and Maharagama respectively, against the current economic situation. SJB MPs led by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa staged a protest march from the Nelum Pokuna Theatre towards the Independence Square in Colombo and they were stopped by the Police from entering the Independence Square.
