SJB National Organizer Tissa Attanayaka expressed concern on the forthcoming elections and said SJB is ready to face either a Presidential Election or a General Election at any time.
Addressing a press briefing in Colombo the SJB National Organizer said people are anxiously awaiting an election in the coming months and said the SJB is ready to face any election that is held by the Government.
Attanayaka said the SJB’s only objective is to improve the country’s economy that will benefit all people especially the downtrodden masses who are facing untold difficulties due to the escalating prices of daily used food and other consumer items. Quoting international reports Attanayaka said even a large number of children in the country cannot have a proper nutritious meal at this juncture and due to this majority children are suffering from malnutrition.
He said under an SJB Government we will prosper the lives of people by reducing the cost of living, so that everybody could lead a happy life. Attanayaka also mentioned about the SJB’s ‘Sakwala’ educational equipment and the bus distribution program while being in the
Opposition and said this programme has immensely benefitted millions of schoolchildren so far.
He urged the Government to reduce the prices of essential food items including milk powder, rice, wheat flour, dhal, sugar and also the prices of diesel, petrol and kerosene oil for the benefit of all sectors including the vegetable and fish transport services, fisher families, industrialists, manufacturers and factory owners.
