The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Kegalle district organizer, Lakshman Dissanayake who was in remand for the alleged murder of a woman at his Party office was re-remanded until September 30 after being produced in courts.
Police recently arrested Kegalle SJB organizer Lakshman Dissanayake in connection with death of the woman. The body of the woman was found in the upstairs room of the Party office of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Kegalle district organiser Lakshman Dissanayake at Kalugalla Mawatha in the Kegalle town.
The deceased has been identified as Sakunthala Weerasinghe (38), a resident of Habudugala in Kegalle. A revolver was also found near the body.
Police said that the deceased had been working at this Party office for a number of years.
