SJB MP J.C. Alawatuwala said the state Minister entered the place using ministerial powers and it is an act of violating the rights of prisoners.
He said the Minister had entered the prison at night without any reason and threatened prisoners with a pistol in his hand and ordered two prisoners to kneel down before him.
Addressing a media briefing, he said State Minister Ratwatte had committed several unlawful acts during his stay in the prison and requested the Inspector of Police (IGP) to immediately arrest him and conduct an impartial investigation in this regard.
He further said if State Minister Ratwatte is still moving freely it will be a threat to the investigations carried out by Police at this moment.
Alawatuwala in his complaint also urged the IGP to conduct a broad inquiry with regard to the recent statement made by Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera that another attack similar to the Easter Sunday attack could happen again.
