Poking around the net this week I found that the one word .com domain name action.com is being simply forwarded to a Facebook page.
The domain which I would estimate as a low six figure domain name doesn’t resolve to a site but is going to a Facebook page “For MEN who like MEN”.
Certainly we have been seeing companies advertising their Facebook page or their Twitter hashtag in advertisements instead of domains of their website but this is the first time I can remember seeing a domain name of this quality being used a just to redirect visitors to a Facebook page.
The Facebook page has over 20,000 likes however I’m not sure what the play is here as there is nothing to buy through Facebook.
On the other hand back in January of 2013 the domain was going to a parked page.
What do you guys think?…
