Interpreter of Dolores Van Cartier (aka Sister Marie-Clarence) in "Sister Act", Whoopi Goldberg has confirmed that a third film is currently in development, and that it should reunite the original cast.
Touchstone Pictures Announced in December 2018 for the Disney + platform, the sequel to the musical adventures of Sister Marie-Clarence is indeed in development, as Whoopi Goldberg recently confirmed in the James Corden show.
The interpreter of cabaret singer Dolores Van Cartier, forced to integrate a convent of nuns to escape gangsters, has indeed declared that a Sister Act 3 was in preparation, suggesting very strongly that it would be of a sequel, and not of a remake as one might think so far.
"For a long time we were told that no one wanted to see [un nouveau Sister Act], " she explained, "And then quite recently it turned out that maybe that just isn't true, that people might want to. So we're working diligently to find a way to bring the whole team together and come back."
This will have something to delight fans of the original film, directed in 1992 by Emile Ardolino. Should we thus expect to find in this third opus, alongside Whoopi Goldberg, the ex-nuns Maggie Smith (the Mother Superior), Kathy Najimy (Sister Marie-Patrick) and Wendy Makkena (Sister Marie-Robert)?
