Sincerely, X by June Cohen

By Pamelascott

Some stories are too sensitive, painful or potentially damaging to share publicly - unless they can be shared anonymously. TED and Audible present, Sincerely, X, featuring speakers whose ideas deserve to be heard but whose identities must remain hidden. From lifesaving rituals to the unexpected gift of a prison sentence to the consequence of physician burnout; you won't know the storyteller's name, but their story may change you forever.

As an Audio Show - free for members - when you add Sincerely, X to your library, you'll get all 10 episodes, each with a runtime of about 25 minutes.

I absolutely loved these podcasts. I'm familiar with the TED talks through various courses I've done with The Open University. Each episode deals with someone, a regular person who has survived extraordinary often traumatic experiences sharing words of wisdom. The speakers are varied and include someone who survived 20 years of domestic abuse, a doctor whose fatal error led to a patient's death and a woman with mental health issues who has a very public breakdown at an optician with pepper spray. The message in each episode is clear - you can survive and you will thrive. Talk about life affirming. Some of the experiences discussed were very emotional and hard to listen to at times. I hope TED makes another series.
