Sin City is celebrating its 15th anniversary today. The big screen adaptation of the series of comic-books designed and written by Frank Miller was officially co-produced by the latter and Robert Rodriguez (A Night in Hell, Planet Terror, Alita: Battle Angel). But did you know that a certain Quentin Tarantino was also behind the camera for this cult work?

Quentin Tarantino spent a single day on the set of Sin City, in order to film the car scene featuring Clive Owen and Benicio Del Toro, visible in the player below. A job for which he was paid ... a dollar! This presence behind the camera for such a symbolic sum is actually the result of an exchange of good practices. After his close friend Robert Rodriguez composed the soundtrack for Kill Bill: Volume 2 for only a greenback, Q.T. had then promised to make part of Sin City for the same amount. Something promised, something due ...

Recall that Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez are the two directors of the Grindhouse diptych: the first signed Death Boulevard while the second was behind the camera for Planet Terror. Finally, note that Tarantino played under the direction of Rodriguez in 1996, for the feature film Une nuit en enfer.
