Simple Tennis Tip – Take The Ball On The Rise

By Kselz @TennisFixation

When a ball is coming toward you and bounces on court, it forms an arc. We usually wait until the ball passes through the high point of this arc and then is coming down to hit it. "Take the ball on the rise" means moving in to hit the ball before it hits the high point of its arc. You hit it as it is "rising" off the court after bouncing. This means you hit the ball sooner and get closer to the net quicker. While it takes some practice, hitting the ball on the rise can make your shots even more effective than waiting on the ball.
