Simple Slow Cooker Chili

Ingredients:

2 lbs of ground turkey

1 packet of chili seasoning

1 can of diced tomatoes

1 can of tomato sauce

1 bag of shredded cheese

1 can of kidney beans (red or white) drained

1 cup of diced onion

1 cup of chopped red bell peppers

Instructions:

1. In a large skillet, brown the ground turkey and drain.  Place the turkey back on the skillet and mix in the onions and peppers. Cook on low to medium heat for about 10 minutes.  Remove from heat.

2. Place the turkey, onion, and pepper mixture into your slow cooker.  Add the diced tomatoes, sauce, and beans.

3.  Cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-5 hours.

4.  Once the cooker is finished, turn the setting to warm.  Layer cheese to the top of the chili (mix in if desired).  Place the lid back on the slow cooker long enough for the cheese to melt.

You can pair this recipe rice on the side and serve with a dollop of sour cream.
