‘V’ is the fifth release from Dublin based artist Simon Bird. Blending ambient, drone and instrumental hip-hop alongside general electronica, unsurprisingly the tracks in ‘V’ vary a lot. However, this sort of genre mixing is never an issue as long as it works. Luckily for Simon Bird it does, meaning that this release is incredibly intriguing and often wonderfully textural. Really worth listening to through headphones – there’s a lot of interesting stuff happening that you could easily miss.
