Verdict: A Thriller that leads you in all the wrong directions
Story: When I went to watch this all I was expect was a normal intruder film. Well I was very wrong even though most of the film plays out as one. The twist and turns come aplenty but watching the characters doing the absolute wrong thing in the scenario really will get on your nerves. In the end we get one of the supernatural haunting to uncover a truth stories that are fine by me. (8/10)
Actor Review: Elizabeth Olsen – Sarah who gets trapped in the lake house has no escape, no communication her only way out is to hide. Miss Olsen does a great job in this as the camera is on her for the whole film and she gives a genuine horrified performance. (9/10)
Director Review: Chris Kentis, Laura Lau – Even though it is a remake they create a very atmospheric film that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. (9/10)
Horror: With jumps a plenty the use of the supernatural works to create great horror. (9/10)
Thriller: You will be at the edge of the seat from the moment Sarah first hears a noise upstairs. (10/10)
Believability: The intruder angle works but the supernatural is not believable. (2/10)
Chances of Tears: No (0/10)
Settings: The massive lakeside house that clearly has too many rooms makes for a great setting and using the boarded up windows offers us the chance for it to start the terror during the day. (10/10)
Suggestion: This is one for all those horror fans because it will keep you guessing from start to finish as well as offering a few scares here and there. (Horror Fans Watch)
Best Part: The camera snapshots in the dark.
Worst Part: A few plot holes in there.
