Story: Silent Hill starts when Rose Da Silva (Mitchell) starts believing her daughter Sharon (Ferland) is in danger. Sharon has been experiencing nightmares and sleepwalking, constantly talking about a place called Silent Hill. Christopher (Bean) would like to see Sharon get some expert help, but Rose decides to take matters into her own hands.

Rose takes Sharon to Silent Hill, only to lose her upon arriving. Meanwhile, police officer Cybil Bennett (Holden) follows the pair and now the three are trapped in the ghost town. However, when night comes, creatures of nightmare come to life and Rose finds herself in a race against time to find Sharon and survive.

Verdict on Silent Hill

Silent Hill is a mystery horror following a mother trying to help her adopted daughter. After the daughter starts having nightmares about her past, the pair go in search of answers. Only to find themselves in a nightmare town with an incredibly dark past.

This turns into one of the very best video game adaptations. The world created is filled with so much atmosphere, that can show the darkness within the town. In the story side of things, we get a dark tale that could fill nightmares. While some of the bigger iconic creatures from the game don’t appear, we do get an appearance from Pyramid Head and the power it possesses. This is one that I will recommend to anyone who wants to try and video game movie.

Final Thoughts Silent Hill is an excellent atmospheric horror movie.
