Verdict on Silence of the Prey

Silence of the Prey is a horror thriller following an illegal immigrant trying to make a life in America. However, the dream gets shattered when she learns what her benefactor wants from her. She must fight to protect her daughter from their evil ways.

This is a movie which looks to show how easily people could go missing in their battle for a life in a new country. It shows the process they must go through, before turning into a much darker horror movie. This follows a style of horror we have seen before but doesn’t give up what puts them on the edge of their seat. It uses the contained environment to escalate everything nicely and takes us down an unusual path to arrive at the high-stakes climax. The movie has strong performances throughout, which shows the horror one goes through, and the beliefs others have.

Where to Watch

World Premiere February 22 at The Golden State Film Festival

Final ThoughtsSilence of the Prey is a tense horror using isolated build for added suspense.
