On a recent Caribbean trip, a medical emergency onboard necessitated a medevac from the cruise ship, which was provided via this USCG Jayhawk operating from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater (Florida). This afforded an unexpected aviation photography opportunity even though all I had packed was my Sony RX-100. Here the rescue paramedic is being hoisted aboard, after the patient has already been secured inside. These upgraded Jayhawks have an operating range of 300 miles. Entering service in 1990, 42 MH-60T’s are operated by the Coast Guard. Sony RX-100, processing with Aperture.
