Your Cat Stops Going Into Heat
The first sign of pregnancy in a cat will be the loss of heat cycles. For instance, if a cat goes into heat every 2 weeks or so, and suddenly stops, it's very possible that she might be pregnant.
Increased Friendliness
Pregnant cats often develop nesting instincts. This often results in a quieter and friendlier cat that purrs on a regular basis. Your cat might also begin to frequently seek out your attention.
Increased Appetite
When a cat is pregnant, she's no longer only eating for herself. For this reason, your cat will show an increased appetite and begin eating more frequently.
Nipples Swell
Another early sign of pregnancy is pinking and swelling of the nipples. This will happen after about three weeks, and will be most visible during the first time that your cat is pregnant.
Enlarged Abdomen
After being pregnant for about five weeks or so, your cats abdomen will become noticeably larger, and continue to grow as your cat comes closer to having her kittens.
Nesting Activities
As it comes closer to the time for your cat to have her kittens, your cat will begin to seek out quiet places to give birth. If your cat suddenly starts hiding away, she might be having her kittens soon.
Vomiting
Like any pregnancy, your cat might get a little sick, and suffer through a few instances of morning sickness. While this is no cause for alarm, if the vomiting is too insistent, it might be time to take your cat to a vet.
Weight Gain
Depending on the number of kittens your cat is having, she'll gradually begin to gain weight. After about 40 days, a vet should be able to determine the number of kittens your cat is having.
