Sid the Science Kid App Review

By Bloggerfather @bloggerfather
I got a chance to try out the new Sid the Science Kid app, Sid's Science Fair, a iPhone app with the characters from the PBS Kids show.
Kids can choose one of three sections: the "Collection Inspection," where the user (the app is aimed at ages 3 to 6) moves a magnifying glass to inspect collections of coins, butterflies, and other small objects, to find out small differences and to learn more about the objects.
The second section is "Chart It." Here kids organize objects with shared characteristics (like colors and shapes). The third section is "Time Machine." Here kids see changes in objects over time. They can look at images of items as they change, and they can sort the images according to the order in which they change. Changing items include geysers, blooming flowers, melting ice cubes, and more.
The photos below probably do a better job illustrating the way the app works.
It's been a hit with my kid, and hopefully it will make him want to watch the show more, because if he makes me watch Lalaloopsy one more time, I'm throwing the TV out of the window.
The app currently costs $2.99.
Side note: The cute teacher, Susie, doesn't make an appearance. Sad, I know.
