Verdict on Showdown at the Grand
Showdown at the Grand is an action comedy following a struggling theater owner facing a fresh fight to save his theater. He is about to have one of his favorite action stars guest appear, but a ruthless business owner wants to knock down the building.
This is an action comedy that fully understands the fandom actors can gain. It uses an older action star filled with cheesy one-liners having a cult following. Along with mixing life and fiction by using the one-liners in everyday life. This bottles down to an extreme battle for ownership of a movie theatre, when it uses the bigger love for the theater to drive the motivation. It is a lot of fun and the glimpse into the parody movies created for Claude are hilarious. This does feel like a movie that can be enjoyed by anyone who has a cult following for any movie or star.
