Today I have had the pleasure (yes, ‘pleasure’ even in the quagmire) of helping plant up my son’s School Garden for the Malvern Spring Flower Show. The design was inspired by the story Aliens Love Underpants…..need I say more! Shaped as a pair of Y-fronts it comes complete with spaceship, aliens, pants and plenty of plants.
Show gardens, they are all about displaying gardens and the plants in them at their very best. Everything looks pristine, not a leaf or petal out of place. But for all of this to happen there is the build-up – working on-site come rain or shine to build the perfect garden….. and this is what I’ve been working in. Not a great time to discover a hole in my wellibobs!
Swiss Chard with brightly coloured stems and veins looks suitably out of this world!
My work on the wildflower meadow is being closely supervised by my project manager. If you happen to be in the area the show opens next week Thursday 10th-13th and I would highly recommend a visit. Come and check out our pants!
