Every year at Thanksgiving, I think of my Israeli professor, who had never celebrated US Thanksgiving before his first year teaching at a US university. A colleague invited him to dinner at 6pm on Thanksgiving evening. He arrived at 6 on Wednesday evening with a bottle of wine.
