Who Has the Best Green Electricity Rates in Dallas, TX?

Texas continues to climb the ranks as a leader in solar and wind energy in the nation. And if you care about your carbon footprint, you’re probably in the market for the cheapest green electricity in Dallas. After all, there’s nothing like saving big on your energy bills and carbon emissions. To help you find the cheapest rates, here are Dallas’s best green electric plans.

Which Dallas Providers Offer Cheap Renewable Electricity?

Solarize 36 from Chariot Energy has a low energy charge of 5.78 cents per kWh. With the standard TDU charges wrapped in, your average rate for electricity is 10 cents per kWh.

The only fee you need to be aware of is the early termination fee. You’ll pay $15 for each month remaining in your contract should you decide to leave before your period ends.

Another one of Dallas’s best green electric rates is Chariot Energy’s Solarize 24. You’ll pay a slightly higher electricity charge of 5.88 cents per kWh. With the TDU charges, the average rate for 1000 kWh of energy use on this plan is 10.1 cents per kWh.

Both of these electricity plans from Chariot Energy have no bill charges or extra fees to worry about. Instead, you get straightforward pricing and a low electricity rate.

Just keep in mind that there’s the same $15 per month early termination fee as Solarize 36. So to clarify, remember that the Solarize 24 and Solarize 36 plans are 2 years and three years long, respectively. So, the longer you stick with these plans, the less you’ll pay if you choose to switch.

Varsity Energy also has two of the best green electric plans in Dallas:

  • Field Goal 24 gives you a cheap energy charge of 5.6 cents per kWh. And once you wrap in the standard TDU charges, your average rate for 1000 kWh of use comes to 9.9 cents per kWh.
  • Field Goal 12 has a slightly lower electricity rate of 5.4 cents per kWh. With the standard TDU charges added in, you’ll pay an average of 9.7 kWh for 100% green energy on this plan.

It’s important to note that both of these plans have a steep $150 early termination fee for Dallas electricity. To make sure you get the most out of these plans, you’ll want to stay until the end to avoid paying that.

The best renewable electricity plan in Dallas isn’t the cheapest, but it’s close. Solarize 6 from Chariot Energy has a slightly higher electricity charge at 5.98 cents per kWh. Once you add in the standard TDU charges, you get an average rate of 10.2 cents per kWh for electricity.

What makes this plan great is that it’s only a 6-month plan with a $15 early termination fee. This gives you the freedom to shop and compare Dallas electricity providers after summer, right when the fall shoulder months begin and rates start to cool off.
