Shonda Rhimes Creating Netflix Series Based On NY Con Artist Anna Delvey

Shonda Rhimes is about to turn the story of Anna Delvey into a Netflix series.  Delvey is the fake heiress who scammed her way into becoming an “it” girl on the NY social scene.

According to Deadline, Shonda will write the drama series adaptation. This is the first project announced under Rhimes new Netflix deal.

Anna Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin was arrested on Oct. 25th, 2017.  Delvey claimed to be a German heiress, but is accused of being a con artist.  She scammed money from banks, businesses and friends all over the world.  The 27 year old has been charged with multiple counts of grand larceny and theft of services.  She is being held without bond on Rikers Island. Anna recently rejected a plea deal, she is due back in court on June 19th.
